As the sun rises over Ubud, the day begins with a gentle adventure. We start at an elephant sanctuary tucked away in the lush jungle. Here, amidst the serene surroundings, we learn about these majestic creatures and participate in bathing them—a bonding experience that brings us closer to nature.
Afterward, we venture into the terraced rice fields, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The emerald-green paddies cascade down the hillsides, a testament to Bali’s agricultural heritage. Walking along the narrow paths between the fields, we witness farmers at work, their rhythmic movements echoing the timeless cycle of planting and harvesting.
Next, we journey to a secluded waterfall hidden within the forest. The sound of cascading water grows louder as we approach, and soon we’re standing before a pristine pool fed by the falls. Here, amidst the cool mist and lush greenery, we refresh ourselves and soak in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
As the day draws to a close, we visit Tirta Empul, the sacred water temple. Built around natural springs, this temple is a place of purification and spiritual cleansing. We observe locals performing rituals, cleansing themselves under the water spouts believed to have healing powers.
